Responsible gambling
Gambling carries financial risks and should remain entertainment rather than a source of income. MrQ describes several ways to monitor play, control spending and step away when needed.
Financial limits
MrQ offers daily, weekly and monthly spending controls. You can set them before depositing or later through your account. A deposit limit caps incoming deposits. A net deposit limit calculates deposits after subtracting withdrawals within the chosen period. Both types can be used together, with the tighter restriction governing what is allowed.
The periods follow the calendar. Daily limits renew at midnight, weekly periods cover Monday through Sunday and monthly periods cover the calendar month.
A reduced limit applies immediately. Increasing or removing a limit requires a 24-hour wait followed by confirmation. MrQ prompts players to consider setting a limit annually and to review account activity at six-month intervals.
Time reminders and account history
Reality checks provide an on-screen reminder after a chosen interval between 30 minutes and four hours. You can stop at that point or continue. Continuing starts another reminder interval.
Transaction and game histories let you review activity through your account. Transaction records can be filtered by period. Review how much you have spent alongside the time you have devoted to playing.
MrQ's self-assessment encourages players to consider whether they exceed intended spending or session length, chase losses or use money meant for something else. Other warning signs include neglecting responsibilities, feeling bad after play and being left without enough money. Take concerning answers seriously and consider limits or independent support.
Short breaks
MrQ's time-out option lasts from 24 hours to six weeks. During the break, account access and login are unavailable. The account becomes active automatically when the selected period finishes. MrQ describes no contact during that break.
You can arrange a time-out within your account or ask MrQ's support team for assistance.
Self-exclusion
MrQ offers operator exclusion for six months, nine months, one year or five years. An active exclusion cannot be shortened or undone. MrQ closes the account and removes the player from marketing lists.
A balance above £1 is refunded to the original payment method after necessary checks. Account tools or MrQ support can be used to request exclusion.
Returning after the exclusion period requires contacting MrQ. Reopening involves a discussion by telephone, an account review, a 24-hour waiting period and a financial limit. Expiry alone does not reopen the account.
MrQ participates in GamStop. A confirmed GamStop exclusion prevents registration and login across participating UK gambling operators for the selected period. Its available periods are six months, one year and five years.
Independent support and additional controls
MrQ names GamCare, Gambling Therapy and Gamblers Anonymous as sources of independent help. GamStop provides a broader exclusion option than excluding from MrQ alone.
The safer gambling information also names GamBlock and Gamban as software options for restricting access to gambling websites. You can ask your bank or card provider about blocking gambling payments.
Protecting younger people
MrQ restricts gambling to adults and may request evidence of age. Keep account credentials confidential to prevent access by younger or vulnerable people. MrQ describes parental controls as another way to restrict children's access to unsuitable online content.
